LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has erupted in fierce protest against the Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA)’s plan to shutter its Lahore regional office, slamming it as a hasty, baseless blunder that threatens Punjab’s business lifeline.
In a blistering statement, the LCCI assailed the proposal as a snap decision by the new EPZA chairman, bypassing any rigorous impact assessment on the province’s vibrant manufacturing hub.
The chamber underscored the Lahore office’s pivotal role in orchestrating Export Processing Zones in Sialkot and Gujranwala, warning that its abrupt closure would unleash administrative chaos and sever critical coordination for regional enterprises.
