Petrol Rises To Rs391.30, Diesel Falls To Rs408.53

The government has increased the price of petrol by Rs2.02 per litre while reducing the rate of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs3.59 per litre for the three-day period starting September 26.

According to the Petroleum Division, petrol will now be priced at Rs391.30 per litre, compared with the previous rate of Rs389.28. HSD, meanwhile, has been reduced from Rs412.12 to Rs408.53 per litre.

The revised ex-depot prices will remain applicable from September 26 until September 28, 2026.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the rates under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism. The Petroleum Division attributed the latest changes to movements in international Platts rates, petroleum premiums and other incidental costs.

The latest revision comes after both fuels became cheaper in the previous review. Petrol had been reduced by Re0.84 per litre, while HSD had received a cut of Rs2.63 per litre.

The latest domestic price adjustment comes as international oil markets continue to experience volatility.

Global crude prices declined by more than 1% on Friday as traders assessed the possibility of a US-Iran truce while also monitoring concerns about potential supply disruptions following increased Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.

Brent crude fell $1.34, or 1.3%, to $105.26 per barrel at 1215 GMT. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) also declined by $1.83, or 1.9%, reaching $92.78 per barrel.

Despite Friday’s movements, Brent remained up 1.5% for the week so far, while WTI had recorded a 7.4% weekly decline.
