NBP Launches WhatsApp Banking Service in Pakistan

National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has formally introduced a WhatsApp-based banking solution, marking a significant step toward digital service delivery by enabling customers to perform essential banking functions through a widely used messaging platform.

Through this service, users are able to access key features such as account balance inquiries, mini statements, and detailed account statements directly via WhatsApp. Bank officials have indicated that additional functionalities will be gradually integrated to expand service capabilities.

NBP President Rehmat Ali Hasni stated that this initiative aligns with the institution’s broader strategy to advance digital innovation and improve accessibility to banking services for a larger segment of the population across Pakistan.

Chief Digital Officer Adnan Nasir characterized the development as a key milestone in the bank’s ongoing digital transformation agenda. He further emphasized that the rollout represents the initial phase of a broader roadmap aimed at enhancing user experience through continuous feature expansion.

The bank has highlighted that the introduction of WhatsApp banking underscores its commitment to strengthening digital engagement, optimizing service delivery channels, and promoting financial inclusion at a national level.
