Idrees Textile Mills Cuts Production Amid Cotton Supply Issues

Idrees Textile Mills Limited has announced a temporary reduction in manufacturing operations due to escalating raw material costs, limited domestic cotton availability, and delays in imported cotton consignments arising from ongoing instability in the Middle East region.

According to a corporate disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company stated that production capacity will remain partially reduced for an estimated period of four weeks commencing from May 18, 2026, or until imported cotton shipments are received and the new domestic cotton crop season formally begins.

The textile manufacturer noted that prevailing market conditions and continued disruptions in cotton procurement and supply chains compelled management to scale down operational activity on a temporary basis.

The company further explained that shipment delays affecting imported cotton, combined with shortages in locally available cotton stocks, had generated significant operational constraints impacting manufacturing continuity.

Idrees Textile Mills additionally stated that production activities are expected to progressively return to normal levels subject to improvement in market conditions and stabilisation of raw material availability.
