Petrol Falls To Rs392.05, Diesel Drops To Rs418.96

The federal government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs1.70 per litre to Rs392.05, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been cut by Rs3.12 to Rs418.96 per litre. The revised prices will take effect from September 23, 2026.

The latest adjustment partially reverses the recent increase in petrol prices while continuing the downward trend in diesel rates.

Before the revision, petrol was selling at Rs393.75 per litre and HSD at Rs422.08 per litre.

In the previous review, the government had raised the petrol price by Rs4.61 per litre but reduced the price of HSD by Rs1.96.

The latest domestic reductions came as international crude oil prices dropped to their lowest level in two weeks on Tuesday, amid expectations of improved Gulf oil supplies.

Brent crude futures for November delivery fell $2.11, or 2.1%, to $98.23 per barrel by 1151 GMT.

US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for October delivery declined $2.48, or 2.59%, to $93.30 per barrel. The more actively traded November WTI contract fell $2.36, or 2.55%, to $90.01 per barrel.

All three contracts reached their lowest levels since September 8.

Oil prices came under pressure after Iran indicated that the Strait of Hormuz could reopen within seven days. At the same time, Saudi Arabia was expected to resume crude exports through its Red Sea port of Yanbu.

The Petroleum Division said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised domestic petroleum prices under the federal government’s existing pricing mechanism.

According to the division, the latest adjustment was driven by international market developments, including changes in Platts rates, petroleum premiums and other incidental costs.

The revised petrol price of Rs392.05 and HSD price of Rs418.96 will apply from September 23, 2026.
