Federal Budget 2026-27 To Be Presented June 10

The federal government has scheduled the presentation of Pakistan’s Federal Budget for fiscal year 2026-27 before the National Assembly of Pakistan on June 10, 2026. The budget will be presented by Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, according to a confirmation issued by Khurram Shehzad.

The budget is expected to outline the federal government’s fiscal strategy, revenue measures, expenditure priorities, and broader economic policy framework for the upcoming financial year.

In a statement issued through X, Khurram Shehzad announced that the Ministry of Finance and Revenue will release the Pakistan Economic Survey 2025-26 on June 9, 2026, one day before the federal budget presentation.

The Economic Survey will be presented by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and will provide a comprehensive review of Pakistan’s economic performance, key macroeconomic indicators, and sectoral developments during the outgoing fiscal year.

The announcement follows consultations between the federal government and Pakistan Peoples Party, during which both sides agreed to recommend to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that the federal budget be presented on June 10.

The understanding was reached during pre-budget discussions held in Islamabad as part of the government’s engagement with coalition partners prior to finalisation of the budget framework.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, and senior representatives of the Pakistan Peoples Party.

According to an official statement issued by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, participants unanimously agreed to recommend June 10, 2026, as the date for presentation of the federal budget.

The consultations formed part of the government’s broader efforts to secure consensus among coalition stakeholders before announcing fiscal measures and policy initiatives for the next financial year.

The budget was previously expected to be presented on June 5; however, following discussions with allied political parties, the government opted for a revised timetable and subsequently finalised June 10 as the proposed presentation date.
