FBR Opens PRAL Support Desk At LTO Karachi

The Federal Board of Revenue has established a dedicated facilitation and technical support centre operated by Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) at the Large Taxpayers Office Karachi to assist taxpayers in accessing and utilising digital tax services.

According to an official statement, the facility commenced operations on June 5 and was established in response to directives issued by the Prime Minister as well as requests received from Karachi’s business community for enhanced taxpayer support and improved access to digital tax administration services.

The newly established front desk is being managed by a dedicated Chief (Inland Revenue Operations) and supported by a specialised PRAL team equipped with the necessary information technology infrastructure to address technical and operational issues faced by taxpayers.

The facility has been designed to provide assistance across a broad range of digital tax functions, including support for the IRIS platform, electronic filing of tax returns, taxpayer registration matters, online tax payment procedures, sales tax return submissions, refund-related issues, and other services delivered through FBR’s digital ecosystem.

According to the FBR, the initiative forms part of its wider strategy aimed at strengthening taxpayer facilitation, improving the quality and efficiency of service delivery, and encouraging voluntary tax compliance through greater adoption of technology-driven solutions.

The tax authority further stated that the dedicated support centre is intended to ensure prompt resolution of technical difficulties encountered by taxpayers and to improve accessibility to online tax services for businesses operating in Karachi.

The establishment of the PRAL front desk reflects ongoing efforts by the FBR to modernise tax administration, expand digital engagement with taxpayers, and provide enhanced support mechanisms for the business community in one of Pakistan’s largest commercial centres.
