SBP To Remain Closed on Ashura Holidays

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it will remain closed on June 25 and 26, 2026, in observance of public holidays declared on account of Ashura.

According to an official statement issued by the central bank, the closure will be observed on Thursday and Friday, corresponding to the 9th and 10th of Moharram 1448 A.H., in line with the public holidays notified by the Government of Pakistan.

As a result, all banking operations and services falling under the regular working schedule of the State Bank of Pakistan will remain suspended on these dates, subject to any separate arrangements that may be notified by commercial banks or financial institutions for customer facilitation.

The announcement forms part of the government’s nationwide observance of Ashura, a significant religious occasion marked annually across the country.
