FBR Announces Major IRS Reshuffle

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has transferred and posted nearly 200 officers of the Inland Revenue Service (BS-18 to BS-20) with immediate effect as part of its ongoing transformation plan and intensified enforcement campaign against tax evasion.

To implement the large-scale reshuffle, the FBR issued two separate notifications on Sunday.

According to an official office order, Farhat Qayum (IRS/BS-20) has been appointed as Director General (OPS), Anti-Benami Initiatives, Islamabad, while Adnan Inamullah Khan (IRS/BS-20) has been posted as Director General (OPS) (Special Initiatives) at the FBR Headquarters in Islamabad.

A second notification detailed the transfer and posting of 119 Inland Revenue Service officials. As part of the exercise, the FBR reassigned 80 tax officers and issued fresh postings for 119 Deputy Commissioners Inland Revenue, giving them new responsibilities across the department.

The reshuffle is part of the FBR's broader strategy to strengthen tax administration, improve operational efficiency and reinforce enforcement efforts against tax evaders.
