Petrol Down Rs3.39 Per Litre for August 5

ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Tuesday announced another reduction in fuel prices under the revised daily petroleum pricing mechanism, lowering the price of petrol by Rs3.39 per litre to Rs328.56 and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs4.07 per litre to Rs385.86 for August 5, 2026.

According to the Petroleum Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products in accordance with the federal government's daily petroleum pricing policy.

Under the latest notification, the ex-depot price of Motor Spirit (petrol) has been reduced from Rs331.95 to Rs328.56 per litre, reflecting a Rs3.39 per litre decrease.

Likewise, the ex-depot price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been lowered from Rs389.93 to Rs385.86 per litre, marking a reduction of Rs4.07 per litre.

The revised ex-depot prices will remain effective on August 5, 2026, under the government's revised daily petroleum pricing mechanism, through which fuel prices are adjusted according to prevailing market conditions.

The latest price cut is expected to provide modest relief to motorists, transporters and businesses. However, fuel prices remain highly sensitive to fluctuations in international oil markets and other factors influencing the government's pricing formula.
