FIA Relocates Karachi Offices to Cotton Exchange Building

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is in the process of relocating its Karachi-based operations to the Karachi Cotton Exchange building, which is being designated as its primary city headquarters, according to a report by Dawn.

This move follows the clearance of the premises in December 2025, when the FIA, in coordination with the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), assumed control of the building under directives issued by the apex court, which classified the property as a federal trust asset.

Sources indicate that an agreement has been finalized between the FIA and the ETPB, allowing the agency to occupy the premises on a rental arrangement.

The transition is currently in progress, with the Anti-Corruption Circle already relocated, while the Corporate Crime Circle is undergoing transfer to the new location.

Officials further noted that the building, situated on I.I. Chundrigar Road, comprises approximately 200 to 300 rooms and is anticipated to consolidate all FIA operational units within Karachi.

It is important to note that the title and ownership of the property remain subject to ongoing adjudication before the Sindh High Court.
