Balochistan Imposes Section 144 to Control Wheat Movement

The Government of Balochistan has enforced Section 144 across border districts to curb the movement of wheat and address concerns related to smuggling and hoarding, according to official statements.

As per a notification issued by the Home Department, the directive has come into immediate effect and will remain applicable for a period of two months. Relevant authorities have been instructed to initiate action against individuals engaged in the unlawful transportation or accumulation of wheat stocks.

The notification further provides that possession of wheat exceeding prescribed limits, as well as concealment of stock, will be subject to legal proceedings. Enforcement officials have also been empowered to confiscate wheat found in violation of the imposed restrictions.

Deputy Commissioners have been directed to conduct inspections of suspected storage sites, verify transportation records, and seize wheat being transported or stored in contravention of the order.

These measures are intended to regulate wheat movement in border regions and ensure strict compliance with the imposed restrictions throughout the specified duration.
