KP Excise Revenue Rises 19% in Nine Months

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise and Taxation Department recorded revenue collection of Rs5.136 billion during the first nine months of the current fiscal year, reflecting a 19% increase compared to the same period last year.

Officials reported that collections during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year stood at Rs4,314.6 million, indicating a growth of Rs822.2 million in the current year.

The performance was reviewed during a monthly tax recovery meeting chaired by KP Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Syed Fakhar Jehan.

During the session, officials presented a comparative analysis of revenue collection up to March 2026 against annual targets, highlighting progress achieved during the July–March period of fiscal year 2025–26.

The minister directed field officers to ensure full achievement of assigned revenue targets by the close of the fiscal year, emphasizing that no leniency would be granted in meeting set objectives.

He also commended officers who successfully achieved their targets during the review period.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Khalid Ilyas, Director General Excise Abdul Halim Khan, Additional Director General, directors, and other officials from Peshawar and district offices, with several participants joining through video link.
