Idrees Textile Approves Diversification And Expansion Strategy

Idrees Textile Mills Limited has announced a strategic business diversification and operational modernisation plan aimed at strengthening profitability, improving cash generation, and enhancing the company’s long-term financial sustainability.

In a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company stated that its Board of Directors, during a meeting held on June 1, 2026, approved a series of strategic initiatives intended to improve earnings performance and support future business expansion.

According to the company, the approved strategy includes replacement and upgrading of selected production machinery to facilitate a transition towards manufacturing higher-value-added textile products and improve operational efficiency.

The board also approved utilisation of surplus operational space to create additional revenue-generating opportunities beyond the company’s traditional textile activities.

As part of the diversification plan, the company intends to expand into warehousing, logistics, and supply chain management services with the objective of developing new income streams and reducing reliance on conventional textile operations.

The company stated that these initiatives are expected to improve profitability, strengthen cash flows, and enhance its overall financial position while creating a platform for sustainable long-term growth.

According to the disclosure, management believes the proposed measures will improve shareholder value and generate broader benefits for stakeholders through increased operational diversification and enhanced business resilience.

The company further clarified that implementation of the proposed initiatives remains subject to shareholder approval under Sections 134 and 183(3) of the Companies Act, 2017, together with completion of all applicable corporate, legal, and regulatory requirements.

To obtain the necessary approvals, Idrees Textile Mills will convene an Extraordinary General Meeting on June 27, 2026.

The company added that comprehensive details regarding the proposed diversification strategy, capital expenditure plans, and business expansion initiatives will be provided to shareholders through a separate EGM notice.
